As an Educational Leader, I am focused on making education more collaborative and less competitive. I advocate for modeling the risks we expect of our students and shared about this in my TedX Talk “My Year of Yes to Me” published on Ted.com. In my 20 years in education, I have taught grades 9-12 English, Yearbook, AVID and chaired the LEAD Design Thinking Pathway at Los Gatos High School for 10 years. I am currently an Educational Innovation Leader for Santa Clara Unified School District, a K-12 District in Northern California serving 31 schools (K-12).

My continuous love of learning led me to become a Google Innovator, Trainer, and Coach. I am a co-founder of GlobalGEG, the creator of CanWeTalkEDU, and the author of numerous articles published on Edutopia and my own blog. I speak at educational conferences around the world and was named CUE’s Teacher of the Year for 2021. I am a proud contributor to Because of A Teacher by George Couros published in 2021 and Evolving with Gratitude by Lainie Rowell published in 2022.
