Stephanie Rothstein is an Educational Leader focused on making education more collaborative and less competitive. She advocates for modeling the risks we expect of our students and shared about this in her TedX Talk “My Year of Yes to Me” published on Ted.com. Her areas of expertise include Design Thinking, project based learning, cross-curricular pathway development, collaboration and communication, professional learning, and educational technology.
In her 20 years in education, Stephanie has taught grades 9-12 English, Yearbook, AVID and chaired the LEAD Design Thinking Pathway at Los Gatos High School for 10 years. She also served as an Educational Leader at the District level supporting professional learning for a Unified High School District. Stephanie is a certified Administrator and is currently serving as the an Educational Innovation Leader for Santa Clara Unified School District, a K-12 school district supporting 15,500 students and over 1,000 teachers at 31 schools.
Stephanie has presented for CUE, ISTE, Santa Cruz County Office of Education, UC Santa Cruz, Liberty Union High School District, Los Gatos Saratoga Union High School District, Google for Education, and has been invited to share all around the world.
Stephanie's continuous love of learning led her to become a Google Innovator, Trainer, and Coach. She is a founder of GlobalGEG, the creator of CanWeTalkEDU, and the author of numerous articles published on Edutopia and her own blog. She speaks at educational conferences around the world and was named CUE’s Teacher of the Year for 2021. Stephanie is a contributing author in Because of A Teacher by George Couros published in 2021 and she also contributed to Evolving with Gratitude by Lainie Rowell published in 2022.
